Background: Crisis, former superstar of DCW and UCW fame, was asked to participate at NPW's No More Rain... as part of a series of specially sanctioned matches to determine new champions for DCW's Danville, Tilton, and Tag Team titles.  It was believed that this would mark the first appearance of Crisis at an NPW event.  He succeeded in defeating old ring nemesis Sweet Jimmy D to win the Danville Championship, but many found it alarming that Crisis chose to participate in the ring masked.  What did he have to hide?  All was revealed when, during a confrontation with Omega, Crisis was unmasked revealing the infamous visage of MARS?!  Everyone in NPW was at a loss, and Crisis/Mars did nothing to clarify the situation, as from that point on no one was certain who would make his entrance when Mar's theme or Crisis's theme started playing.  This tactic, while disheartening to fans, succeeded in throwing opponents off, and helping Crisis/Mars gain the upperhand in many of his matches.  By Lights Out '02, the charade had ended, and the name of Mars supposedly passed into NPW history.  It wasn't to be, as Crisis, turning on his DCW roots was fired by Commissioner Melvin Shmemptner so as to no longer be a threat to the 3 Kings.  It backfired as he returned a show later as Mars, his original NPW namesake.  And so, one can only assume that Crisis shall pass into history, or, possibly, be forever linked to one of NPW's greatest superstars and Next Phase Wrestling itself.
