The aptly named Heatstroke '02 is in the books, Zero's out of the hospital and "Sweet" Jimmy D.'s out of his mind.

The reports I've heard say Zero is well with five stitches behind his left knee. Dare Devil said you could see the tendens as he poured cold water on the wound Zero sustained after missed a somersault off the apron and landing on an open chair in his Unified Hardcore Championship match with Wildkat. Omega said Zero left for the Cow Country Invasion Monday, instead of the planned Sunday departure time.

Heatstroke saw the EBW wrestlers get an opportunity to make a name for themselves in NPW. What started with serious doubts ended in high hopes. I made the mistake of not pushing for an interview with Accelerator for a full understanding as to what his relationship is with Dare Devil and why he turned on him in their handicap match with Zero. I suppose I had the chance to ask Accelerator's debuting valet, Erica, about their past while commentating, but opted to call the match that was going on. Whoa is me. Dare Devil ended the night on a strong note, not only winning the battle royal, but eliminating "Sweet" Jimmy D. to do so. Jimmy D. maintains that he didn't hit the floor first and that the new ref didn't understand the rules to a battle royal. Dare Devil will most likely have to wait for another piece of the sweet one, however.

So "Sweet" Jimmy D. helped Crisis beat Big Smith. An explanation is surly in order. How about the heat from the crowd though? One girl threw a bottle! I have yet to hear about Zero's reaction to Jimmy D. re-joining with Crisis and presumably re-joining the 3-Kings, now a trio of thugs unlike the good guys of DCW past. I expect Jimmy D. to focus his attention on Omega and Big Smith now that he's joined their enemies.

Super Tito Guerrero Jr. and "Primal Instinct" Kurt Rigsby couldn't make Heatstroke due to car failure. Guerrero was scheduled to meet Wildkat in the pizza box scramble death match and Rigsby was slated against "Sweet" Jimmy D. for the DDT Championship.

I missed RAW this week, but heard about the Lillian Garcia/Howard Finkle angle. Me no likey. Announcers are for announcin'. Not fancy announcin'. Let the wrestlers be the characters for the angles.

I understand King of Extreme, a DCW event, is next for Next Phase Wrestling. Get ready for hitting people with things!!!

Reporting for NPW, I'm Mick Gene.
