![]() Hey fellow NPW-ites, as I write we are 5 days away from Farmland Fallout '04.
I've got some happenings to go over, a "where was he?" report from Gettin' Jiggy
in June, and a Farmland Fallout history.
The big story from Gettin' Jiggy is we have a new Unified Hardcore Champion in
El Ninja. The former champ, Sparky, had held the championship since October.
As documented on the video tape, of all the wrestlers Sparky has stepped in the
ring with, El Ninja is the only one the former champ hasn't beat. It looks like
Sparky will get his rematch in July or August (King of Extreme pending), as he's
slated for action against one half of the All Vermilion Tag Team Champions,
Gumbo Boy, at Farmland Fallout. El Ninja will make his first defense against
X-Celerator, who put Arnie Ambiguous on the shelf with 3 Overdrives at Gettin'
Jiggy.
His senses have been bled out of him. To Zero's credit, he's asked for two
matches at Farmland Fallout, both against guys no one wants to be in the ring
with right now. As an added "4th of July" bonus, it'll be USA vs. USSR as Zero
will take on X-Celerator in exhibition action. His other match will be a one on
one rematch with "Longhorn" Dan Benson. We all know the result of their match
at Gettin' Jiggy, so Zero knows how crazy it is to want to get back in the ring
with his nemesis.
Omega and Dre-Kahn haven't seen eye to eye since Omega's grand NPW return.
Although Kahn has refused comment on camera, he's asked me who Omega thinks he
is by not showing for his scheduled main event NPW Championship match at Gettin'
Jiggy. Per the request of the Omega Men, it'll be the new tag team of Wayne
Shocker and Dre-Kahn vs. the classic Ultimate, Alpha and Omega, at Farmland
Fallout.
Here's a rundown of those who were scheduled to wrestle at Gettin' Jiggy but
didn't.
1. NPW Champion Big Smith was present and ready to go. However his opponent,
Omega, didn't show.
2. Omega was a no show with no explanation, thus there being no NPW
Championship match.
3. Scarlet Spider had to work, thus the Off Duty Officer Johnson vs. Angus
McBlood match.
4. Treehugger was a no show with no explanation, thus the Arnie Ambiguous vs.
X-Celerator singles match happening at Gettin' Jiggy instead of Farmland
Fallout.
5. Dare Devil was present and ready to go, but Treehugger no showed, resulting
in no opponent.
6. Toxic Johnny had to work, thus El Rosebud tagging with Toxic Billy in the
3-way tag team championship match.
Believe it or not, Farmland Fallout has been an important event for NPW in the
past. Last year's event saw the debut of both Sparky and Whitey McLiverDamage's
Douchebag Driver. At the 2002 edition, X-Celerator made his debut and "Sweet"
Jimmy D. won the DCW Championship from Mars in a triple threat with Zero. And
at the first Farmland Fallout, Omega won the NPW Championship from Mars in a
4-Way elimination match that started as a tag match, I think.
Hope to see you all at Farmland Fallout '04!!!
