Howdy yall, Mick Gene here and November to Forget '03 is in the books in more ways than one. A. The event itself is in the books and of course I'll be covering it in this report. B. I'm proud to announce the name "November to Forget" will never be used again!

The headline of the show was Mars defeating "Sweet" Jimmy D. to win the DCW Championship. Jimmy had been the champion for 17 months, and it looks like no rematch will happen anytime soon. As you probably know, Wildkat attacked Jimmy for losing immediately after the match with five Elektrokutions, putting Jimmy on the disabled list indefinitely. Although I failed to ask Wildkat about it during the backstage interviews (Wha happened?) he later said he was just employing the law of the jungle. "Jimmy showed weakness and I was just cutting my losses," Wildkat sneered. Mars will take on Tucker Clifton at Christmas Slay. Clifton is a DCW alumnist who was well on his way to a Tilton Championship reign before they went out of business. You may remember him from when he tagged with Hoghead Hellspawn for a shot at the DCW Tag Team Championships at NPW No More Rain.

Wild Bill "successfully" defended his NPW Championship against Timmy. Too bad he had to go get himself disqualified by blatently using his baseball bat. Rumors are sketchy as to what took place behind the curtain between General Sherman and Timmy, but I have learned Timmy disappeared and isn't expected to be at Christmas Slay. However, Wild Bill has possibly his toughest title defense yet next month against NPW perennial favorite, Big Smith.

With the motivation Big Smith had to win his match with Dare Devil, many expected the former Danville Wing to mow right through the young prodegy with an attitude. The opening move of the match where Dare Devil shoved Smith through the ropes, crashing to the floor proved otherwise. Smith did win the match as we know, but Dare Devil was nothing short of impressive. In return, Dare Devil earns a match with the returning former NPW Champion Arnie Ambiguous at Christmas Slay.

During my backstage interviews, Wild Bill said he's not worried about Arnie because the Japanese wrestling enthusiast attacked him from behind. Arnie's motive is similar to Big Smith's, in that Bill put them on the shelf and now they're back looking for revenge. Big Smith gets the first crack at the cowboy, could Arnie be next?

The Wildkat and Zero Mixed Martial Arts style match was, as expected, unlike anything we've seen in Next Phase Wrestling. Although Wildkat was outmanned, his mastery of manipulating the rules earned him a victory. If he keeps this up, expect more upset wins from Wildkat. However, at Christmas Slay the former NPW Unified Hardcore Champion has Zero again in a match where manipulating the rules can't come into play--because there won't be any rules in the Stretcher Match!

Sparky looked great in his Unified Hardcore Championship match with Yashi Torymoto. He's well on his way to showing that title is as much represented by the North Vermilion Championship as it is the Hardcore Championship. The match was right down the middle and good, athletic competition. Don't expect more of the same at Christmas Slay, as Sparky will defend the championship against the Tilton Tangler, who did defeat the volunteer firefighter at Next Event. Hmmm...Next Event...I have another announcement. The name Next Event will no longer be used as well.

The tag team situation has continued to heat up as the two giants of the division are clear. They're the champions and the Shockers. Dan Benson and Gumbo Boy are knocking down all challengers and the Shockers are putting away the same teams in their climb to the top of the championship ladder. I will assume it's gonna be the Shockers vs. the champions at Christmas Slay, but Commissioner Schmemtner said he'd address the issue during some opening announcements.

Slightly related to the tag issue, El Ninja will take on Treehugger at Christmas Slay as a result of their interplay following their loss to the tag team champions. For you NPW history buffs, this is a rematch from the King of Extreme finals.

I was hoping I'd run out of the time before I got the chance to write about him, but Wayne Hewes II has revealed himself to be a 10-year-old Geoff Desmond. By that I mean he says he'll beat you up, you stand up to him, he runs. I am happy to write the Wayne Hewes II Invitational was a lot of fun to watch and didn't seem long despite involving an excess of 21 wrestlers, some of which were down right hysterical and I hope to be seeing some of them jerkin' curtains soon. Props certainly go to Zero for lasting all that time and then winning the darn thing. At Christmas Slay, Wayne Hewes II promises if Zero succeeds in the match he has for the international superstar, we will see Zero vs. Wayne Hewes II.

See you all at the FUW/NPW Thanksgiving dinner Sunday November 23rd. I understand Larry Dash is putting together a highlight package featuring great moments from the FUW. As long as I get an oversized novelty turkey leg and some cheesy hashbrown potatoes, all will be fabulous.

And after we're all loaded with turkey and Schlitz, prepare yourself for Christmas Slay '03: A Day of Imfamy, Sunday Sunday Sunday December 7th, 2003 with a bell time of 5pm, but we all know how closely we adhere to bell times...not like we're the only ones, right Washington DC Zero???

Reporting for NPW,

Mick Gene
