![]() You didn't accidentally step into the DCW webpage! We really are gonna hold the 2nd ever Gettin' Jiggy in June on Sunday June 6th. Did I pick the name because it's aweful? Kind of. Did I pick the name to have the Will Smith song play all day? Eh, a little maybe. Did I pick the name to make you ask why on earth would I do such a thing? You betcha!!!
A lot's happened since I wrote last. We've got the same champions but different challengers are popping up all over the place. Big Smith successfully fought off Dare Devil even after being backed into a corner after Unnatural disaster. Mars got W's over the insane Gumbo Boy, but now has Dan Benson and Wildkat breathing down his neck. The All Vermilion Tag Team Champs haven't defended lately, but the Longhorn has laid waste to two of Next Phase's perennial favorites in Wild Bill and Treehugger. Sparky's continued his streak of upsets, but at Farmland Fallout will face an opponent whose proven himself against the Unified Hardcore Champion in the past: El Ninja.
We've got a couple stories brewin' too. Omega made his illustrious return at Wrestling Revolution, getting a tag team win over Team Hell with Omega Men member Dre-Kahn. While Wayne Shocker and Alpha seemed over joyed at Omega's arrival, Dre-Kahn looked to be none pleased at Omega's showboating and win stealing. I'm sure Dre-Kahn will be thrilled when he learns Omega's getting an NPW Championship match at Gettin' Jiggy in June.
At Wrestling Revolution, X-Celerator parted ways with Ivan Ruskie in the way you'd expect. He didn't say a word, but was all business when he crushed Jon Tomson in the ring. Now X-Celerator's allied up with Dare Devil, a union 99% guaranteed to take both wrestlers far in NPW. Their first step will be against the men they brutally attacked at Wrestling Revolution--Treehugger and Arnie Ambiguous. Both sides will get a taste of each other in tag action at Gettin' Jiggy in June before breaking off into singles matches for Farmland Fallout. We've learned Zero hasn't accomplished much at the Cow Country Invasion thus far this spring. It seems his hatred for Dan Benson has kept him from focusing and enjoying the success he's had there in the past. We hope to hear from Zero June 6th at Gettin' Jiggy in June, for he's slated to meet Dan Benson in the ring at Farmland Fallout.
So...Wayne Hewes III huh? He seems to be more worried about whiffleball than wrestling. As is with anything with the name Hewes on it, I'll be watching in pitiful amusement. I'll give him this. He's got a lot on his plate for Gettin' Jiggy in June with this intermural tag match and his plans to spoil Scarlet Spider's return. A successful Colt League? I'll believe it when I see it. Thanks to a generous contribution, I'm now able to record voice work from home. So expect some sound bytes and interviews on the website soon!!! Reporting for NPW news, I'm Mick Gene.
