![]() HEY! HEEEEEEEEEEEY! HEY KNOBBS! HEY KNOBBS!
HEY KNOBBS!
In case you didn't notice, I'm loopy tired. I got canned on Tuesday, yet here I am typing to you from the remaining hours I have after meeting Shawn Michaels earlier in Peoria. How's this for mooching: In the past 2 months, I've had my picture taken with Matt Hardy, Steve Corino and Shawn Michaels...none with a camera I can rightfully call my own. Thanks Zero and Eric (not NPW Eric).
So when I'm not thinking of LeAnna Hart on her knees (thanks for ruining the scene Kobe) my mind drifts to Next Phase Wrestling. And now it's time to type out some random thoughts.
So wait, is Omega gone? But he's the DCW Champion. He pinned "Sweet" Jimmy D. in the middle of the ring in the 3rd fall of the main event tag team match at Christmas Slay. But Wildkat pinned Omega in the first fall which had Omega's career on the line. Me so confused. I'll guess we'll find out how Commissioner Schmemtner will handle this situation at the Oddity.
I understand the battery went out on the camera as Wild Bill was laying a beating into Arnie Ambiguous after their match for the NPW Championship at Christmas Slay. Arnie's back was pretty beaten from the chokebombs and the frog splashes and I don't think we'll see Arnie back for a while.
Zero my hero again? You gotta love them digs he was sporting at Christmas Slay. He showed the mark of a great performer--he was able to get the crowd behind him in an instant during the interview segment and during his match with Wildkat for the Unified Hardcore Championship. "Sweet" Jimmy D.'s interference solidifies that this will be quite an ordeal between what's left of the DCW Kings and Zero.
Professenstein? Geez. The good Baron's done it again. Hidenvike's gotta teach Steiny to loosen up in the ring though. The straight-limbed style won't get him many victories in NPW. Hammerfist fought hard in their battle against T-Money and Old School McGee for the NPW Tag Team Championships, but with Proff as his partner, he didn't stand a chance.
Congratulations are in order to both Dare Devil and Scarlet Spider, who both scored victories over the two NPW wrestlers who engaged in what some consider the best feud in NPW history. Hopefully Yashi will rediscover who he is during his time back in Japan. I'm sure we'll see him again after the deportation clause is lifted. With Scarlet Spider's win over El Ninja, Matt McGlasson has the unenviable task of wrestling the Tilton Tangler at the Oddity. Tangler was reported as literally licking his chops at the thought of "throwing around the little jumping bean with the thin red shirt."
So much blood in the battle royal. I'm interested to know what Ivan Ruski was talking about when he mentioned a suprise for the Oddity and papers he needed to sign. I've heard reports that the Psychotic Drifter needs to stick around, but will probably drift away to Florida after the New Year so he can be a psychotic drifter in warmer climates. "King Kong" Bruiser Dody...that's an 11 on the Muta scale.
Question for thought: Who promoted the better former hockey player gimmick? NPW's Big Smith or WWF's The Goon?
Hey I heard I may get to indulge in what was the...ahem...greatness that was the Danville Wrestling Federation during the Holiday week. I've spoken with former owner Dave Lawrence and he said he could hook it up. Who's jealous? Come on! Mark Mangle? That was a great gimmick!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and hey Hogan, nice cheetah print bandana.
Mick
